Posted There is some animal that decides to bake some bread and asks for help from the other animals. I remember it going something like this: Who wants to help me gather wheat for my bread? "Not I", said the pig "Not I", said the red hen She then asks about all the ingredients, one by one, and nobody wants to help. "Not I", said the ......" At the end of the story the animal wants to know who will help her eat the bread. "I will", said the pig "I will", said the red hen etc... At the end, the animal said, "No you won't. I will sit here and eat it myself." And she did. What is this book?

Jelp01 Diamond Enthusiast	Posted Hide Post I could be wrong, but I believe it was "The Little Red Hen", and it was the hen who did all the work without help and then ate the bread herself. At least that's how I remember it when Grandma used to read me the story as a boy.

I think there used to be a cartoon when I was a kid of that... and the hen, after asking each time for help, said "Bawk bawk bawk badawdle" or something phonetically similar.
