It's a wonderful novel, Kitty. I would recommend it. If you want to read how the British aristocracy lived, this is a good account. The Flyte family were an upper class English family, but had converted to Roman Catholicism, which I think would have been unusual. It's narrated by the character, Charles Ryder, who is a friend of Sebastian, the youngest son in the family. I read it after the TV series was shown. But, if you can, read the book first and then see if you can rent a copy of the series. It looks like the series was shown on PBS in the US: Brideshead RevisitedThe new film looks like it might be interesting, Jenny. Brideshead Revisited (film)
