Did you like it? honestly, i hated the book, but it has such high reviews, am i missing something? ++++++++++ 07-23-02, 10:51 AM cattywampus I have always thought Sylvia Plath an overrated poet. The Bell JarI seem to remember was interesting, but anything but memorable. The critics love her, for some reason. ?? roll eyes

07-26-02, 05:56 AM Elexina I enjoyed it, I thought it was a basically good book, a twisted sort of look and life and all. But it was far from fantastic. Perhaps it received critical acclaim because it was different. Sometimes different can be good.
09-01-02, 07:55 AM Cris5 Hassia, I think it is held with such high regard is because it documents Sylvia's descent in her own words. I'm not aware of many creative non-fiction works of that nature, and would bet that she was one of the first authors of her genre to be so open and honest about her path to destruction.
