1-1/2 c flour
1/2 c cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 c butter or margarine
1 c sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1-10 ounce jar cherries
1-6 ounce pkg chocolate chips
1/2 c sweetened condensed milk

In large bowl, combine dry ingredients. In another bowl, beat butter & sugar on medium speed until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well.

Graduallly add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beat with each addition until well blended.

Shape into 1" balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center with thumb.

Drain cherries, reserving the juice.

Place a cherry in the middle of each cookie.

In small pan, combine chocolate chips and milk, heat on low until chocolate is melted. Stir in 4 tsp of the cherry juice.

Spoon 1 tsp frosting over each cherry, spreading to cover the cherry completely.

Bake 10 minutes at 350, cool on wire rack

Makes approx 4 dozen cool
