SCARY, I know, but my dad likes fruitcake...He did say that a long time ago he had a tropical fruitcake that a secretary at his work made (unfortunately she is gone) he said instead of the red and green candied fruits it had bits of either dried or candied pineapple, coconut, nuts, and he is not sure what all. If anyone has a recipe like that or a good regular fruitcake recipe I would appreciate it!!! Thanks!

I don't know of a recipe, but this company has been in biz for almost a hundred years and makes the most fantastic fruit cake I have ever tasted ... I remember this cake from my early childhood years... My grandmother would buy these every year...
They use NO citrus rinds...If you order soon, you'll have time to let it "soak up" a special flavor... Wink

Smile This modern day version actually sounds really edible, and not too hard.

It doesn't have any brandy in it though...I'll keep looking for a REAL old fashioned recipe! Big Grin
