I have a phone which works in all respects except that it no longer wants to take messages properly, cutting off either my announcement or callers' messages so that I get no messages. Is there any remedy for this other than my buying a new phone? Also, is this a temporary thing in any way caused by that sun phenomenon which is preventing the data on my cable TV shows and sometimes even the shows themselves from appearing on the screen?
Yes, I heard about the tin whiskers. Now, via your link, I saw them, too! Believe it or not, most peculiar whatevers reach my eyes and ears. Anyway, I bought a new phone (did not yet connect it), and the old phone has probably outlived its life expectancy of what I think is five years.
