No, not another question, just an observation. Two gardens away, they have a tall eucalyptus tree whic throughout the summer/autumn can shed leaves which due to it's hight, can fall in our garden. We have noticed over the years, that the leaves which fall into water, ie bird bath, can turn the water reddish. We are now wondering if this will have any effect on the ducks when that happens again. What do you think ?

No effect, methinks. It is technically true that eucalyptus species contain some toxins but the ducks would surely need to eat an awful lot of fresh leaves to get affected Smile. As it is the leaves are dead and dry. Eucalyptus leaves turn red as they age. That's probably why the water is reddish. They are evergreen, in that they are always in leaf but they do lose more leaf in colder and windier times.
