Your rabbit’s diet should be primarily timothy hay and fresh dark green leafy vegetables fed free choice (all it can eat ) and should be the main staple of the diet. Some vegetables and herbs you may try are broccoli, dark leaf lettuces, kale, parsley, carrots, endive, escarole, dill, basil, mint, cilantro, spinach, tomato, and celery. Be sure to cut the celery up into small pieces and remove the stringy parts from it.
You may feed one fourth of a cup of commercial mix rabbit pellets fed twice a day in addition to the other feed. But don’t over do it. Supply your rabbit with fresh feed daily. “Old, stale feed or moldy feed could make your bunny sick. You should also supply your rabbit with a mineral salt block free choice. Your rabbit should have fresh water daily as well.
Avoid feeding fruits and commercial feed mixes that are often called "gourmet" or "treat" mixes filled with dried fruit, nuts and seeds and other commercial crunchy treats that contain food coloring. Although rabbits find them quite tasty they are not good for them.
