Hi! I have never had a rabbit before, and even though I have researched them, I still have several questions about rabbits: I have a dog that sheds... Will dog fur affect a rabbit in any way? Will a rabbit bother a dog in any way? I know you're not supposed to let the rabbit run loose with a dog, because, the dog might hurt it. However, my dog will not hurt a rabbit. So, I need to know if it's okay to have a dog and a rabbit. Also, I have two hamsters. The rabbit cage would go by the hamster cages...Will that be okay? I mean, I don't know if any kinds of diseases or something could be transmitted at all between them. As you can tell, I'm a careful person. I just want to be sure everything is safe and okay before I get a rabbit. Thank you!

I don't know about your dog hurting the rabbit. I do know we had a rabbit and dogs and all dogs shed at least a little bit and it didn't seem to effect the rabbit at all. I will tell you once we had a black part Irish Setter (the father left town after the dastardly deed), Blackie, and we have pictures of her laying with our long haired guinea pig, Laurie, who was snow white. They loved each other. We also had ducks one Easter and Blackie would herd them. He was very gentle with every other animal including cats. I hope this helps.

I'm not also not sure about your dog. I mean, my friend had a kitten and a dog, and they got along great! *so she said* and then one day she called me and told me that her dog killed her kitten... Bunnies are prey of Dogs, Coyotes, and Wolves. Not to say your dog is one of them, but be careful, no matter how safe you think your dog is.
About the other stuff- no i don't believe that you will have any problems with your dog shedding and the rabbit eating it or anything...
Just make sure that you watch it if you will be letting her/him run around the house... they tend to chew on stuff (and electrical wires)
Being a bunny owner for a while (7 years) please ask if you have any questions and feel free to email me
