Hi! Smile I keep reading to give a rabbit Romaine lettuce and not Iceberg. Why?
Would Iceberg harm a rabbit?
Also, what kind of lettuce do you give hamsters? I read on one website to give them Romaine, but the rest of the sources I looked at don't specify.
If you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you! Smile

Iceberg lettuce is 90% water, and causes diarrhea when fed. The next reason for not feeding iceberg is that it does not contain any nutrition. For rabbits, rodents, and turtles it is void of any of the needed nutrition.

Now romaine lettuce on the other hand, is highly nutritious. Although it has a very high nutritional content it should not be your rabbit’s or hamsters primary diet.

Well, I do know it shouldn't be the primary diet. Smile Thank you for your reply! Smile I certainly wouldn't want to give them diarrhea.
