any kind of deep conditioner that is for your hair type will work. They don't do anything different at the salon than what you would do at home. If there is a beauty supply store in your area, the workers there would be happy to recommend a product for you.

If there is not a supply store near you, check out the haircare section of your local drug store and just read the packages - - for damaged, dry, fine, blah, blah, blah. They're all out there - there will be several that they refer to as "reconstructive" or "deep" conditioners - these are the types of products you are looking for.

Many of these products suggest anywhere between 3 and 10 minutes - if you want to go the extra route - - leave in for up to 30 minutes (as long as your hair is not fine and oily) and you might even want to wrap your hair in a warm towel (warm in the dryer).....

This should do the trick for you...

I've had the condioning treatments at the salon. It depends on the services offered, but the ones I've had didn't do much more than what I could've done at home.

Lydia's right. Don't fall for the V05 hot oil treatments, though. They last 24 hours and that's it. For conditioning that lasts, I like Nexxus and Aveda products. Also, to keep my otherwise dry hair (due to straightening) in shape, I use only products that moisturize my hair. These days it's Aveda shampoo and conditioner for colored hair and moisturizing Hang Straight for styling. If you must use gels or other drying styling products, spend a little extra on the ones by Aveda. They use natural ingredients, and the line has worked wonders for me.
