I always have a few shampoos and conditioners going at once. I like to switch up.
Redken color extend is a great product. It smells great and will protect your color. They really have improved Redken over the last few years.
Aquage is very good. It is a clarifying shampoo. You do have to use a lot of conditioner since the shampoo rinses squeaky clean.
Rusk has great products. They all work well on color treated hair. I really like the "Calm". Rusk has a great product called deepshine which really tames down the frizzies.
Now Paul Mitchell used to be really good but they changed their formula or something. They have a color care line but it seems to make the water run with color. Its almost as if it takes the color out when you use it. I just don't like it.
Biolage has a good product line but their conditioners aren't that good. Your hair doesn't feel smooth when you rinse.
I never used the Nexxus for colored hair. I like their Humectress conditioner. It does go on a little thick so you don't need much.
Are the salon brands a little too pricey? You can buy some really good cheaper brands too. Loreal has some great color treated products.
You know Loreal IS Redken.

Bedhead makes some good color treated shampoos. The conditioners rinse clean too.
Neutrogena Clean for Color is also a good brand. This is good to use for a pick me up. It rinses clean and smells good.
Some products to stay away from IMO are:
Pert
Prell
Finesse
Alberto VO5
My friend, who has thick curly hair, only uses John Frieda products. They have frizz ease which works pretty well. I also think a good pomade would work well on your hair. Using a product and letting your hair air dry is probably the best way to ensure the curl stays without the frizz. I'm sure it takes forever for it to dry too! I keep hearing that Aussie makes a wonderful crunch spray for curls. Just know that you will end up smelling like a grape.

Another thing, make sure you are seeing a good stylist. Spiral curls tend to really shorten up the hair. If your hair is only shoulder length, you could end up looking like Little Orphan Annie.
