I commute back and forth to school everyday. I l also am a very shy person. Not a very good combination, I'm having trouble meeting people. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Where would I look to find a job on campus?
Finding a job on campus is a marvelous idea! Call the school's main line and ask them which department handles employment matters. Another very good way to meet people at school is by getting involved in some of the clubs. Some people are not oriented to this sort of thing, so you might have to force yourself (like I did). If you like to write, get involved in the school newspaper. If drama's your thing, try out for a play or work in theater design. If you're interested in politics, volunteer for student government. Start by learning as much as you can about your school. Go to your student relations office, or try your student advisor. And pick up the school newspaper each week to find out what's going on on campus. That's what it's there for! Good luck!
Try looking in any message boards, ask your college advisor, go to the on campus Student Union and check out that message board for jobs. Ask around. Blessings!

H11, Take the Direct ticket to the Student Relationing Officer as he/she is the best person to assist you to get a job. Plus, the SRO himself has a motive to get you a job i.e. to have more of students from the uni working to bring a better name and reputation to the Institute. Most Institutes also have incubators primarily for this purpose. To employ their own student.
I was very shy while I was in college too. However, I did meet many wonderful friends, I found a Christian group that met once a week, and it took a very long time, but I finally got to the point I could actually talk to people, just from being a part of that group. Try to find groups or clubs whose interests are the same as yours. The Student Union has message boards, and your student newspaper lists them too. And don't let people tell you you'll never have friends. If you be a friend to someone first, you'll never lack for friends.
And for finding a job, again, try your Student Union or your newspaper. You might also try your registrar's office. They may be able to help you find a job as well.

yes, I do know that the term of 'incubator' is used for the place where you hatch babies also, I think, where human babies are kept if they are born weak or something.
However, at APTECH they have a system, where they put your data into an 'incubator' if they feel you are elligible to do a Professional Job. By the time a job pops up, they are reminded of you, and then arrange interviews etc.

I am still in the process of studying; not even an under-grad yet.
I worked for the Alumni Association, calling graduates and begging them to give money to the school. A lot of my friends worked for the bookstore, copy room, cafeteria, that sort of thing. You might also want to check out clubs and organizations. There is something for everyone, generally and some of them, like newspapers or yearbooks, might even give tuition stipends.
