I know that college prep classes taken in high school, as well as honors courses, give extra weight to a student's GPA. So far as I know, the school itself doesn't matter.

At my school, the AP courses are the weighted ones. I'm not sure if the honors ones are. I don't know if this differs between schools--I know that the AP courses that are offered often differs between schools... We only have biology, English, art, history, and music.

At the high school I attended, honors classes (AP, Pre-AP) gave you extra points on your GPA but you had to make a B though to get those points or you didn't get the extra points.
