I think the first thing you should do is to take another pregnancy test. Read the instructions carefully and make sure you use it properly.

Many things can affect your menstrual cycle....stress and illness being but 2. Take another test and go from there.

I agree with Zoo take another test and follow the directions use the first morning urine or at least wait a few hours before you go and do since the last time you urinated. You could of had a light period because of stress or just hormone changes. Do the test if the results are negative and you still don't have a period in a few weeks I would call my doctor or go to a clinic and have a blood test done and or talk to a doctor. Good luck. smile a nurse

Go to your doctor or a Planned Parenthood clinic and have a real pregnancy test done. Then you will know for sure whether you are pregnant or not and will probably be able to tell you how far along you are, if you are pregnant.

I would recommend going to a CareNet Pregnancy Center. You can find the one closest to you by calling 1-800-395-HELP or this site: CareNet. At the center, you can receive a free pregnancy test and talk with a caring woman about your personal needs and concerns.

CareNet Centers are FREE, confidential, and staffed by caring people.

Hope this helps,
Teresa smile

Health centers and planned parnethood places as well as OB/GYN offices all use urine tests much like those in the store. Take another home test first thing in the morning and if negative, make an appointment to your GYN to get checked out. There might be unliying circumstances that are causing you not to have a period. They will most likely repeat a urine test, so you might opt to skip the home test and just go ahead to the doctor. This way if you are pregnant you will have gotten your first visit out of the way and you will know how far you are along and can start prenatal care right then. Don't wait much longer, your body is supposed to work in a routine each month and when the routine is interupted (for whatever reason) you need to try and get it back on track.

Yes, but there is no guarantee that these tests are acurate. You can take six different tests and get all sorts of results, and never be sure if they are right or not. The only way to know for sure is to go to a real doctor. They perform blood tests, to see if you are pregnant, not just urine tests, and their tests are more accurate anyway.

[QUOTE] their tests are more accurate anyway[B]

When I got pregnant the last time in 1999 the Doctors office told me that we did not need to do a repeat pregnancy test. Because the home test are just as accurate as theirs. I watched them do while we were trying to get pregnant for a few years and it is just like some I have bought and I even asked them. They have really improved because in 1993 they did a repeat test when I went to the doctor and my home test was postive.

I'm sure they have improved. I'm just saying that the best way to know for absolute is to see a doctor. And in just the past few years I've had a couple of friends with pregnancy scares and one took several tests half of which came back positive and half negative. Another friend took three and all three were positive and she was not pregnant.
Now, of course, the tests could be perfectly accurate and the problem is human error, which is just another reason to go directly to a doctor. We all make mistakes.
