I was wondering if your bag of water has to break
to be in true labor with out your doctor inducing
labor of course.
I am scared I am not going to know when I go in
to labor soon enough to get to the hospital to get the antibotics in before the baby comes for the beta strep.

Sherry, your water can break at various stages of labor, I can only suggest, as I did the last question, to write all these questions and concerns down and deliberately get answers and WRITE them down as they answer them. You have to be aggressive for your own care. No nurse or doctor on here can give an accurate picture without doing a physical assessment of you.

The baby is only at high risk of infection if your membranes have been ruptured for more than 17 hours.

I WOULD talk to your doctor right away, tell he/she how concerned you are and ask as many questions as you can.

Search for Dr.Greene pediatrician and read her articles on Beta strep, not as scary as the others.

MOST IMPORTANTLY GO AND TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR
