i stopped taking the pill 4 months ago and am following the cervical mucus method.
for the first 2 months, my cycle was exactly the same as on the pill, but last month (and so far this month) i have ovulated starting on the 11th day of my cycle-now 32 instead of 28 days. the question is, what is happening in the time (a good 2 weeks) between ovulation and period, is the egg still around and waiting to be fertilized or does the dead egg just stay and hang out a few days longer?

if the egg isn't fertilized within a couple of days of ovulation, it won't implant in the uterus, and just dies and passes on through.

Hassia if you are trying to get PG start having sex prior to ovulation and keep it up through ovulation until about 3 days after. DON'T have sex every day it will deplete his sperm count. My doctor said every other day or every 3 days. If you ovulate on day 11 I would have sex on day 7, 9, 11, 13. If you are absolutely sure this when you are. If not start on day 5 and go to day 15. Good Luck! Remember sperm can survive about 5 days inside you awaiting that egg or trying to find it.

The egg only lives for 12-24 hours after you've ovulated. You need to have intercourse before you've ovulated rather than after.
