hi, i am 43 years of age and have been planning a pregnancy. I was ovulating on the 22nd November or thereabouts. I had sex on the same day. 6 days after i experienced light pink spotting , very light for approx 1 day. I have felt a kind of movement on my left side , a little like cramping. I was due for my period on the 6th December but no show. I am usually very dry before my period but i am having a clear odourless almost like watery discharge. I had a blood test on the 4th december but the technician said it could be too soon as some women do not show HCG or any other signs until later. Could i be pregnant ? Fingers crossed. This will be my first pregnancy.
Any suggestions apart from the obvious of waiting...signed - wishin & hopin

well, I, myself, have recently experienced the "mature" pergnancy situation. Smile

I am 40 (in March) and am now 32 weeks pergnant. I might add that I was NOT trying to get pregnant and was on contraception. Smile

It was a nerve wracking time for me waiting to get the results of a positive when I FELT that I must be pregnant but was before the tests would conclusively prove it.

There are some quite accurate tests that show a correct 'positive' earlier than standard tests. I used them and they were correct, but I admit that I must have used 4 to 5 tests in paranoia over a 4-5 day period.

The only thing you can do is wait.

That and stop ALL medications that are harmful for the baby, eat well, start taking vitamins, minerals, iron and FOLIC ACID in case right now.

I had a miscarriage earlier this year (still not attempting to get pregnant but that is why I started contraception .. and got pregnant anyway Roll Eyes), and I think that it was due to the medications I was taking (as well as my nutritional status, but we won't go there.. I just had a Gastric Bypass).

So, do the RIGHT THINGS NOW... in case.

Sorry I can't help and be more supportive or specific. Smile

When was the date of your last day of your last period?

(I am an RN, I might be able to help you calculate with more assurance).

The way you calculate when you can get pregnant is about 10 to 14 days after the last day of your period.

You can get a positive test on the day your period is due, normally. But this isn't always true, 100%.

Your breasts can get sore from entering your menses state, too.

Give yourself a few days and test again. If you are truely feeling you are pregnant, you can get your doctor to do a blood test.

If you are sure about your ovulation date, then I'd say wait another 3-4 days and test again. Make sure you test first thing in the morning and try not to drink too much the night before, so your urine is concentrated.

However- do you know for sure you ovulated on the 22nd November? Unless you temp, or had boodtests done, you cannot be absolutely sure; your ovulation date can vary widely, especially when you are lder, have been ill or stressed.
