My mother mentioned that she had severe morning sickness while she was pregnant with me. Her doctor had prescribed a medication for her that she took daily throughout the pregnancy up to the eight month. Mom doesn't remember what the medication was. I'm wondering what kind of medication was used back in the 1950's for morning sickness?

Thalodmide was used in Europe and by test subjects in the 1950's.. but the attempt to have the FDA approve it was stopped because of the newly discovered associated birth defects.
Ah, Thalidomide, the great saviour of women from vomitus projectus. What a wonderful invention! Until they found out what it did to the fetus... Alas, such is the way with so many drugs. That's why it's best to just not take ANYthing when you're pregnant, not even cold medicine.
