Alright...since I have gotten pregnant I just feel gross...I dont feel like I can be cute anymore...I just feel like I am not attractive . I have only gained two pounds since I have been pregnant, but my stomach has expanded a lot more then two pounds..I am kind of at this stage where you cant tell if I have gotten fat or if I am pregnant...
*************************************************************** 11-08-03, 01:15 PM angela-cc I have a few tips for you. These were given to me when I was pregnant years ago.
Maintain fitness - it’s fine to continue your current exercise routine, but don’t start a new program or intensify your training program.
Stay cool - don’t exercise in extremely hot whether or let yourself become overheated.
Hydrate - drink lots of water. Eight glasses a day is recommended for all pregnant women, but you need even more if you’re exercising.
Cross-train - it’s okay to seek alternative fitness methods if running doesn’t feel good. Walking and swimming are excellent options.
Use the buddy system - Run/Walk with a friend.
Watch your step - you may be off-balance because of your growing figure and a change in stride. Be especially aware of changes in terrain and traffic.
Stretch before and after your run - your joints are probably looser since your body is releasing a hormone called relaxin which loosens your pelvic joints to prepare for labor. This means you also have a greater chance of injury.
Easy does it - don’t push yourself to the point of exhaustion or pain. If you’re out of breath, your baby won’t be getting the adequate oxygen supply he or she needs.
Cut out the junk food - eat a healthy diet including lots of fruits, vegetables and complex carbohydrates.
Review your expectations - maintain and enjoy fitness now rather than setting speed goals. Accept that you likely won’t be setting any personal records.
Understand that you will gain weight while pregnant. You are not getting fat!
11-08-03, 01:23 PM Texan-In-Exile Beautifully said, Angela! Smile And remember, Megan - it's only temporary! You're going to lose quite a few of those pounds all at once when you have your baby. Wink
11-08-03, 08:55 PM honilov Megan, you'll have your girly figure back in no time. No need to feel gross. Smile
11-09-03, 12:54 AM megan_09 Thank you all...Smile I am starting to feel better about it already...Because your right...This is only temporary...Smile
11-09-03, 01:23 AM Sherasi I think pregnant women are beautiful. I regret most strongly I will never again enjoy that happy state of circumstance. My pregnancies are so bad, I will likely die if I try to have another child even though I am only 37.
Sagus and I are looking to adopt a child one day, and that will be a delight to us. Smile
11-09-03, 01:26 AM Sherasi Possible names of your itching rash:
11-09-03, 01:28 AM tsaeb Good luck to you ladies. I have a small belly, and I never was pregnant. So imagine how I feel! Cool
11-09-03, 09:09 AM LVLF I remember that stage. I solved it by wearing a tee shirt that said, 'under construction' and had an arrow pointing to my tummy. Smile
11-09-03, 03:49 PM samantha You may feel that way but I know you are as beautiful as ever. Smile
11-09-03, 04:39 PM megan_09 THank you so much sammy...Smile That made me feel ten times better...Big Grin
11-10-03, 04:39 PM Elexina Megan, you answered your own question. You're pregnant, dear, of course you are going to feel different! Your body is changing and you've got crazy hormones all over the place! But remember this: pregnant women are beautiful, in their own way. They are miraculous and should be honored. You are brave and strong and beautiful, Megan. You may not feel that way right now, but I know that you are.
11-12-03, 07:58 PM megan_09 Thank you so much Elexina....
And thank you all so much for making me feel better...
Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
11-13-03, 09:50 PM dogspit I think the point about the crazy hormones cannot be emphasized enough. Whatever you do...do NOT "eat for two"..and do NOT fret about your weight so much that you cause your health and your child's health to deteriorate. Besides, your Mom had you and she sure didn't stop being cute after she gave birth ! Don't worry, be happy Megan ! Big Grin
11-17-03, 08:21 PM megan_09 Thank you dogspit...
That really helped me today...Big Grin
11-20-03, 12:14 AM puppyblues You get nothing, if not more beautiful every passing day. Wink
11-21-03, 03:20 AM Jelp01 Not that I've ever had any experience being pregnant Big Grin, but I know you're hormonally challenged right now. That doesn't change who you are.....beautiful inside and out. It's obvious by looking at your mom that childbirth certainly didn't hurt her appearance any.......and it won't yours either.
You were born to a wonderful mom.......and so will your baby. Smile
11-21-03, 08:16 PM megan_09 Thank you for the nice words Jelp! Wink 11-22-03, 08:11 AM
Jelp01 You're entirely welcome! Smile
11-22-03, 08:56 PM megan_09 And thank you mom for your wonderful encouraging words that I hear everyday...
Thanks for being my mom..
11-22-03, 09:25 PM Wildflower63 Looks like I missed out on some news!! Does this mean Puppy is going to be a granny???? WOW!! 11-22-03, 09:29 PM
megan_09 Yea...she is but dont say that to her...Big Grin Big Grin
She hates that word...
She wants to be called G-ma...Big Grin Big Grin
11-23-03, 02:24 AM Jelp01 Yep! Looks like she's going to be a grandpuppy! Smile
11-23-03, 09:31 AM Wildflower63 When am I going to get my turn!! My kids are appearing hopeless on this subject. My daughter goes on rants about why she can't stand kids. My son thinks kids cost way too much money.
Word has it grandchildren are so much fun that we should have had them first. If I ever get my turn, and it doesn't look good, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this!! They can call me Granny if they want. I don't care. I would just be happy to have some grandchildren to spoil rotten and send them home!! But, not too soon... 11-23-03, 09:52 AM MrsS Well, Puppy could be called "La Abuela"(Spanish) or "La Nonna"(Italian) if the English words bug her. I personally think the Spanish term is very pretty, though the Italian would be easier for a baby to learn to say. 11-23-03, 01:14 PM Wildflower63 Hey Pup! What it like to be a grandma? You excited? You gotta tell us all the fun things you are going to do to spoil that baby rotten! You are going to have so much fun.
This is one of my plans. Remember all those horrible noisy toys your kids had that drove you insane? I'm buying them all!! Of course, they will be sent home with the parents, my kids. Paybacks are going to be fun!! No wonder my kids don't want to give me grandchildren......
