A coworked brought a plant into work, leaving it on the floor all day. Near the end of the workday, her friend looked in the plant, asking if the toad was ceramic..what toad?

This live toad sat in the plant from the night before, took a car ride, and sat n the floor all day without making a move or a sound. Is this normal? Do they usually remain motionless for hours on end? What are its feeding habits?

I'd think it was a ceramic toad too- sitting still like that all day.are you sure your friends arent playing a trick on you?

if your office is air conditioned, that toad is probably pretty happy. if you dont mind, mist your toad every day, a couple times, ...or at least water the plant so he can get something to drink...dont handle him too much.

I'd put him back in the plant (probably NOT the better choice) or back outside where you had the plant before he got taken to the office.

Toads eat worms, crickets, water bugs, land bugs, anything they can catch!

Thank you for the information Chicabird.

Yes, the office is air-conditioned. The toad is now hopefully happy in the yard of my co-worker's neighbor, located near a river.
