If you have a dog, cat, or other pet like that, you could try letting your pet out using that door. If this becomes a regular habbit, the frogs may learn to stay away from the door out of fear for that pet, while still hanging around your house.

Gosh, yes, I can see your point. If you open and close the door, they could get squished. Ugh!
Do you have some horrible perfume that you hate, that someone gave you and you didn't throw away, that you use for bathroom freshener or something? Maybe you could spray it along the top of your patio door. And it wouldn't hurt the frogs (I don't think). And since it's outdoors, it won't repel visitors (I hope). They'll just say, "Ewww, do you have a weird tropical plant growing around here, or something?" And you can lie and say, "Oh, yes, it's a rare lily bulb, and it repels mice and moles from my favorite bulbs." Because actually there are bulbs that smell terrible that are used for that purpose.
