Does anyone know what this plant is please? Seen in grassland in the Midlands in England.

Most of the flowering in the picture looks to be clover. No surprise that that's in grassland: we put it there on purpose becuse it's such a good feed for grazing animals who are then literally 'in clover'.(The old saying 'to be in clover' means to be well off, comfortable or particularly fortunate Smile)

It fools people when you show them a flower then they think Clover is the 3 leaved plant Shamrock being the Best Known Variety

Hi Catriona, and welcome to AnswerPool.
I think Fred is right, the plant is indeed clover, and more specifically, white clover:

It is low growing, with heads of whitish flowers, often with a tinge of pink or cream.
