I live in Europe, in Ireland and used to live in Switzerland. I always thought that the little dark blue berries we find here in the woods, on bushes no more than a foot high with small dark green leaves are called Blueberries. However, I just got a brochure on medicinal herbs, and in it is mentioned the Bilberry, and under other names, it says "European Blueberry". I was under the impression that the Bilberry was a related bt different plant from the Blueberry. and that the Bilberry was only found in the Americas.

Can anyone clear up my confusion?
