I am assuming that they were taken by a state agency. If you lost temporary custody, it may be that all you have to do is prove that the conditions that caused the state to act no longer exist. However, if the children were permanently removed from your custody, you may have difficulty even finding them. The place to start looking in either case is the state agency that took them. Before you call or go in, have all the necessary details writen down, including any questions you have. They may not talk to you over the phone, which means you will need to go to the state office. If you go to their office, be sure and have a picture ID of yourself, your SS card, and whatever information you can get together about when your children were taken.
