Give this some serious consideration - if you are a steak fan. I never was a fan until someone introduced me to this simple recipe:
Melt some butter and add garlic powder to it. Keep your Hy's salt ready - it's like seasoning salt.
Smother your steak in the garlic butter mixture then sprinkle it with the seasoning salt and place it on the grill.
Let it cook for a bit, then do the same when you flip it.
Keep basting it with these ingredients until done.
This may sound strange, but yummmmmmm, it's soooo good.
If you try it, let me know what you think of it. It is DEFINATELY my favourite method, and I will never eat steak at a restaurant again.
Has to be a good cut of meat, by the way! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 04-11-04, 12:36 PM Nadca2 I use to work in a pub. We use to get tons of complinments on our steaks. All we did was throw it on the grill brush it with butter, sprinkle on a little garlic salt and Lawry's seasoned salt. Flip steak do same to other side. So good.. I did the same at home but bought the Hy's seasoned salt and did not care for it at all. I prefer Lawry's.
04-12-04, 02:16 PM gojenni714 Actually, I always grill my steaks with butter. Sometimes I use McCormicks Grill Mates and butter, or my own 'secret herb mix' Wink. Sometimes, I simply use a little butter and bleu cheese....it's delicious!

04-14-04, 10:07 PM Tree Well, these are all essencially the same recipe... I have to say that great minds think alike! AND they have the bestest steaks! Wink
04-15-04, 11:31 AM gizmogram And I HAVE to put in my two cents here...at the top of the home page there's an ad for Andria's Brush on Steak Sauce. This is actually a marinate, and it is absolutely awesome.
I've been using it for a couple of years now, ever since another member recommended it to me, and have been hooked on it ever since. It can be used to marinate any kind of meat, and also to flavor stews, soups, etc. ************************************* Andria's Brush-On Steak Sauce was created by Uncle DG for use at his award-winning restaurant. DG doesn't get a dime from any bottles of sauce you may buy. (But my uncle may remember me in his will! ) While the ads no longer appear at the top of the page, Gizmogram is right about everything else; it's a great sauce. You can order it here. - DG
