My daughter will be getting married next year and is having an alcohol free reception with the exception of a champaign toast. She is debating on having wine served with the dinner as well. Not knowing anything at all about alcoholic drinks I was wondering if it's proper to serve them both together? Any suggestions as to what type if it is? There will be 250 guests and the reception hall will be serving chicken cordon bleu. Thanks for your help.

You certainly do not have to serve alcohol, but wine with dinner would be suitable. With Chicken Cordon Bleu, I would go with a chardonnay or a white zinfindal...the first is a very nice white that appeals to most people and works well with chicken or fish, the latter is a blush wine that goes with nearly anything...Sparkling cider and non alcoholic wines are other possibilities.
Good luck
