Holmes 2009 project

He will be building an efficient home for a family who lost everything when Katrina hit them. It will show "green design" and be sustainable: will not fall down in ten years.

It will conform to the highest "platinum" Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System created by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)

LEED standards.

He is paying for this out of his Make it Right Foundation. He also gives scholarships to young people who want to work in the building trade.

I like someone who

I love his practical and sensible weekly TV show: Holmes on Homes. And no, don't delete this post, DG, this is a sincere compliment to a good product, not a 'plug'.

Holmes is a 'good guy' indeed. I especially like his attitude of 'better than minimum code'.
