Does anyone know what would cause a hot tub to heat up only when the jets are on? When the jets are off the temp keeps dropping back down..Thanks!

Do you have the owners manual or the product # and manufacturer?

It seems like that would be a safety so that the heating elements wouldn't overheat and scald due to a localized hot spot in the tub...

Know what I mean? If the tub isn't circulating the water and the heating elements keep heating the same water you could get scalded...

I make house calls. Will be in the area Sunday.

Ami is right. The water must be circulating so the heaters don't over heat and burn out.

Most tubs I have seen have two speed motors. Slow just circulates and high for the jets.

Depending on age, there just ma be a problem with the wiring.

Really, I will be passing through BLONDEVILLE, USA.
