I have a tooth I just noticed was loose, is there anyway to save them or do they always have to be pulled?

Sometimes yes they can be saved. Get to a dentist right away though. You don't want to waste time and take a chance in case it can be saved.

Chances are the loose teeth will have to go. It sounds like you have gum disease. You need to see the dentist ASAP in order to save what teeth you can. I am told that top dentures aren't so bad. Bottom ones are more uncomfortable and the fit is difficult. If some bottom teeth can be saved, you can get a better fit.

It can be saved, but see your dentist immediately, before it's too late. Hopefully they will also take x-rays while you are there to see if there are any other problems you are unaware of.

My teeth loosen if I don't get enough vitamin C (scurvy). And yes, it's true, dentures are uncomfortable, but you seldom have any problems with the lower plate. It's the top one that acts up. The reason dentures never fit is that they fit the molds to gums that have just in the last few days lost their teeth and are swollen and misshapen. Later, when the swelling goes down the gums change their shape, and the dentures no longer fit. There is no way to avoid this unless you want to go around with an empty mouth for 6 months. So take care of your teeth. roll eyes

Do you have any idea why your tooth is loose? If it is not the result of damage from an accident then it's possible the root of your tooth could be in good condition and if that's the case then your tooth more than likely can be saved. There is a process where the tooth can be anchored to the jaw, although sometimes a crown is needed.

But I'm sure you know this already...set up an appointment with a dentist as soon as you can. You don't want to take any additional chances.
