From time to time, I think about some type of person who or some thing which I would like to have in my life and almost immediately the type of person or thing comes right into my life. I once said that I could walk down the avenue and meet a man who is a millionaire who could do wonders for my life, and I met the number two person in the number one organization representative of a particular religion, who told me that he knew people who could finance the selling of the prophecy book which I had recently published. I went shopping the other day, looked at the Rosh Hashana goodies, and declined to buy them due to their high prices, but when I went to my apartment building's recycling bin, there they were in great condition: a big container of miniature chocolate danishes. Such occurrences happen to me frequently. Even money which I desire shows up to the exact dollar. I feel as though I have a guardian angel blessing me. Do you just think of or speak of events . . . and they occur? ************************************************************** 09-24-06, 08:30 AM MommyTimesTwo

No. But on the off chance you are right, I am going to focus on thinking about winning PowerBall.

09-29-06, 02:11 PM juanruiz You have a better chance of being hit by lightning.
09-29-06, 02:48 PM DorianGreyed Roy Cleveland Sullivan (1912 – September 28, 1983) was a U.S. forest ranger in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Sullivan was hit by lightning on seven different occasions and survived all of them. In his lifetime he gained "Human Lightning Rod" as a nickname. (Wikipedia)
He was also known by the nickname "Dooms."
* 1942: Sullivan was hit for the first time when he was in a fire lookout tower. The lightning bolt struck him in a leg and he lost a nail on his big toe.
* 1969: The second bolt hit him in his truck when he was driving on a mountain road. It knocked him unconscious and burned his eyebrows.
* 1970: The third strike burned his left shoulder while in his front yard.
* 1972: The next hit happened in a ranger station. The strike set his hair on fire. After that, he began to carry a pitcher of water with him.
* August 7, 1973: A lightning bolt hit Sullivan on the head, blasted him out of his car, and again set his hair on fire.
* June 5, 1974: Sullivan was struck by the sixth bolt in a campground, injuring his ankle.
* June 25, 1977: The seventh and final lightning bolt hit him when he was fishing. Sullivan was hospitalized for burns in his chest and stomach.
Roy Sullivan shot himself on September 28, 1983, reputedly over a rejected love.
Two of his ranger hats are on display at two Guinness World Exhibit Halls in New York City and South Carolina.
The 1973 strike is humorous, in a somewhat perverted way. I remember reading about it. Roy was in his car, driving, when he spotted a thunderstorm approaching. He immediately started driving away from the storm. (He was later quoted as saying, "I told myself, 'Roy, this is no place for you to be.' ") After driving for about a half hour, Roy pulled over and rolled his window down to see if he was far enough from the storm yet. He stuck his head out of the window and looked back at the storm. Yep, you guessed it. That's when he got zapped.
Poor Roy. Poor, poor Roy. But he was right; that was certainly no place for him to be.

I have been saying for so long that "It's taking me longer, because I am going farther" without having gotten even out of debt that I would not suggest to anyone that he/she be the high risk taker which I continue to be. Big Grin
10-02-06, 08:05 AM Elexina I didn't say take risks, I said think big. Wishes don't negate personal responsibility.
10-03-06, 04:54 AM tsaeb Elexina: Being conservative does not make one more personally responsible. In fact, it is often said by investment analysts that those who take risks too teeny in size are doing themselves a disservice. Also, thinking without doing can be damaging.

I disagree. I think that caution and responsibility go hand in hand. That does not mean you cannot be responsible and still take some risks. It is all a matter of balance. However, you earlier said "I would not suggest to anyone that he/she be the high risk taker which I continue to be." From that I must have mistakenly concluded you assumed I was advocating high risk taking, which I am not -unless one is financially secure enough to take these risks responsibly.
10-04-06, 04:27 AM tsaeb Elexina: I think that I go in a bigger way than most with what is faith-inspired than with what is fear-inspired. This probably states it about right, although I also think that most other people live more by fear than by faith.
10-04-06, 06:50 AM Elexina Whoever said anything about fear?
10-05-06, 06:26 AM tsaeb Elexina: Aha, you had one dream, did not know whether or not it was prophetic, and got shaken up by it, because you feared that it was prophetic. The average person is so unfamiliar with true spirituality that even God wrote in the Bible to fear Him before He let us know that some people achieved His friendship so that we now know that He wants our friendship. Well, without diligently seeking Him, there is a lot of fear, if not of Him, then of those most evil ones in the world.
10-05-06, 07:06 AM Elexina That was a different thread and a different situation. I was not afraid of the dream or the potential propheticism of it. I was unsettled, yes, and looking for advice. I don't recall fear having anything to do with it, and if you read that from my posts then unfortunately you are simply mistaken. Again.
It seems you've gotten a bit off topic.
10-06-06, 06:07 AM tsaeb Unsettled is anxious is fearful. At least, you were unsettled about another's welfare.
When we cannot make events occur or control their occurring--and they do occur, as in your dream--we can become fearful ourselves about reality.
This thread may or may not be a more scary case--when we are awake and thinking of something occurring and then it occurs.
It seems that in dreaming we have no control and yet something dreamt might occur in reality. Scary. Also, it seems that in being awake and thinking, we might have control where control is not expected and yet something thought might occur in reality. Scary.
Since it is so difficult to even state these scenarios clearly, maybe we should just wait until the unexpected and scary occur. Smile

Not in my interpretation of those emotions.

Not necessarily scary. Not all dreams-which-may-later-turn-out-to-occur-in-some-small-way are scary.

Then why ask the question at all in the first place?

I mistakenly or impatiently thought that your dogged determination was aimed only at presenting yourself correctly to the exclusion of your aiming to arrive at truth. My apology for underestimating you.
10-09-06, 08:11 AM Elexina Right. Well. Roger that.
10-11-06, 02:47 AM tsaeb Roger. Big Grin
