DogSpit - Yes, there was a Batman movie starring Adam West, and I can't begin to thank you emough for reminding me of it. Roll Eyes But, as you realized, that is not the answer. ( The movie "Batman" was released in October 1966, nine months after the TV series started.)

Mozart - The TV show, "Adventures of Superman", has its debut on September 19, 1952. "Superman and the Mole-Men" was released on November 23, 1951, and was a sequel to "Atom Man vs. Superman", which had a release date of July 20, 1950. ("Atom Man" was actually a sequel to "Superman", released on January 5, 1948.) "Mole-Men" had the familiar George Reeves as Superman, and the earlier two had Kirk Allen. Noel Neil played Lois Lane in all three of the movies, and for part of the TV series run. So the TV series didn't spawn those movies, rather, the movies spawned the series.

I have to admit that you had me thinking that you got me, since I knew "Mole Man" was released before the answer I have. (My series is older than "Adventures of Superman".) But fortunately (for me), the Superman movies resulted in the series. I really don't like admitting that I'm wrong in error. ( Big Grin ) Still, an impressive bit of research on your part.

All the above Superman information came from the Internet Movie Database, and fits in with other information I've read over the years.

"Captain Video, Master of the Statosphere" was in 1951, obviously spawned from the TV series.

Spit's answer is a hard one to call. "Captain Video, Master of the Statosphere" (1951) certainly was spun off from the TV series "Captain Video and His Video Rangers" (1949), but is was a serial rather than a full length movie, so I am disinclined to accept it as an answer. However, in another Trivia thread, somewhere, I used the word "movies" to describe the Three Stooges shorts, so, by my own admission, length is not a factor. I think I have to accept it as the correct answer. In either case, it certainly is older than the answer I have, and it is also something that I had not even considered until now. So...

Good job sniffing this one out, Spit!

If no one tries to get the answer I had in mind in the next few days, I will post it. It was a full length feature film. (It just isn't as old as Spit's.)
