Reggie Bush, of course. How big a talent is this player ? (You are something noteworthy in an uniquely American game if a national British newspaper , The Independent, runs a whole page on you ). Is he truly a future great or is it more that he happens to be a star in New Orleans, and so particularly newsworthy through combining a presence in a historically unfancied team; the image of the soccer prodigies Wayne Rooney at Everton or Theo Walcott at Southampton comes to mind; with being in a place struck by tragedy? What's his future career path likely to be ?Neither of the soccer players named stayed with their original clubs for long, though both teams play in the top division, both players being signed by rich top-ranked clubs for enormous sums: can that and does that happen in gridiron ? +++++++++++++ 09-07-06, 04:40 AM BobLaz The man is the "real deal"--I'd just be concerned about injury as he may carry too much of a work load in New Orleans...IF he stays healthy, he could have a career similar to Marshall Faulk--or an even BETTER one..
09-10-06, 07:11 AM Lighteningrodd The New Orleans Saints has had more than its share of disappointments in its franchise history. I recall when they trade their whole draft to get Ricky Williams. A move that appeared to be a good idea at the time but eventually did not pan out.
This draft, the Saints were in an ideal draft position. Reggie Bush fell into their lap & they naturally took him.
As far as NFL careers go, the real wild card is can he avoid injuries. Should the Saints build a good supporting cast, maybe they will finally have their shot at the Super Bowl.
09-28-06, 01:29 AM Strider0 Well, even though George Sr. didn't help the Saints out with his coin toss, his brudda Reggie did. It was a total joy watching the perenially hapless Saints brings some happiness to New Orleans...I was on ESPN all night listening to the victory celebration. Now...can they sustain it.....?
