You have a good start on shading for faces. My suggestion is to look at yourself in a mirror with a strong light source pointing at an angle at the front of your face. Then practice drawing yourself, paying special attention on how the light and shadows makes your face look round and angled.
I have drawn for 35 years and have a degree in art and that is how I started.
