I am interested in information on artist J Raybol.
Samples of his/her work "Runners", "The Skaters", and "Children at Play" can be seen at the following: www.imagetrove.com/gallery2.html
My parents have purchased a print of his/her "Grand Prix" and are interested in a print with "people playing instruments" (I'm guessing that it's the Children at Play work).
However, they know nothing about the artist or the fair market value of his/her work. Any info or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you again for your always valuable assistance!

The artist used to live in the UK but has now moved to the US. You can still purchase his work through the site. The person I spoke with from the site (Stephen) will be emailing a copy of his bio. I guess he models his work after another famous artist. I will post that as soon as I get it. Hang tight! I'm working on it.

I am going to post the entire email I received. I hope it is helpful.
Hello. I am following up on our phone conversation of monday March 29,2004 where you inquired about a biography of J. Raybal. I am pasting the biography here taken verbatim from one I was given. I believe that I have access to two of his paintings which I believe are on the web site. Not sure about that but if your people are interested they can email me and I'll post larger images on a URL for them with price information. ------------------------------------------------
J. ROYBAL
J Roybal is a multitalented artist who has been highly influenced by The work of Boulanger. His style of color and balance of characters in his paintings reflects a wide range of styles, ranging from musical statements of children learning to play instruments, to sports, involving children at play with polo and football, allowing his audience to capture a pure moment of innocence and celebration of being a child. His main theme throughout his work underlines the essence of music and play, and the role it has throughout many of life's many encounters. At times his work is very textured giving it an old world feeling with a contemporary theme, while at other times his use of color is very graphic, going from muted tones to very bright and bold. Some refer to his images as "Puffy People". Roybal began painting at the age of 18 and continued throughout his life in Italy, painting children at play in many of the towns and villages that he frequented. "Coming to the United States was quite and experience" quotes Roybal, " Many of the towns and villages in Europe are quite different from the city scapes in the United States and the backdrop of the children at play has changed quite significantly." Roybal currently resides in upstate New York where he continues his work surrounded by his three children and wife of 25 years. Roybal's paintings may be found in fine galleries throughout the United States and Europe as well as South America. " ------------------------------------------------ If you like Roybal then you might want to check out his inspiration: Graciela Rodo Boulanger I looked up a site with a brief biography of her ---she is fairly famous and can be found inposter and print mediums as well as canvases.
Any further questions can be addressed to imagetrove@ev1.net (the site email box address was buried under a spam wave but I have set up a new box there now that it has gone inactive and the spammers have moved on)
Hope that helps Steve Engel Imagetrove.com information@imagetrove.com
