The trainer (a friend of mine) where I planned on taking my puppy for obedience classes had a litter of puppies and two of the pups got parvo and coccidia ??. My vet, who knows I am friends with the trainer, suggested I not take my 4 month old puppy out there for a while. She said that she knew the trainer knew about using clorox and everything to kill the germs (I can atttest to that I sometimes help her clean her kennels--thank goodness weather has been so bad I haven't been out there for quite some time) but that my puppy could actually get one of the diseases from eating something that had dropped on the floor out there. I had planned on starting her in obedience classes this spring. Any advice or input here. Thanks in advance

Your puppy should not be taken anywhere that other dogs have been until ALL shots (up to a year) because they are more suceptable at getting something. Paarvo can live in the ground for a LONG time.
She is right. I just had a puppy die of parvo We just got two labs, they both had it, got if from the ground where they were born and the people didn't even realize it was still in the ground. It had been a few years since they had had parvo. All the puppies in the litter got it. Our Sadie died a horrible death but we were able to save her brother, Jake. Thank God. Keep your puppy AWAY from there!!!! Please!!!!
