I got home yesterday and my 4 year old beagle mix was dead in his cage. He had water but he covered it with dirt like he so often did. He had blood coming out of his nose. It was rather warm yesterday, but I had shade over his cage. I haven't had an autopsy to find out what has happened, but I was wondering if anyone might have a thought on this. Does it seem like it was dehydration or a virus that got him. I'm at a loss and don't know what to think.

Oh, that poor little fellow. And poor you- that must have been horrible.

How long had he been in his cage? Was his cage in the shade?

That's horrible. I'm sorry this happened to him AND to you.

When one of my cats died close to 2 years ago, I had an autopsy done and found out that his heart had failed. I had conjoured up many possibilites, so this gave me some closure. You may be wise to do the same, if you can.
