Lets pretend that it is your Birthday.....and as a gift from a generous friend you have been given a chef for the night to prepare dinner for you (and up to 5 of your favorite friends, if you choose).

Would you eat alone...

Would you invite just one other person or make it a party...

What menu would you plan?

Mmmmm, as far as friends, that would
depend on my mood at the time. Most
likely I would invite the maximum
number. I would want to start with
shrimp cocktail appetizer, followed
by a thick slab of prime rib covered
in sauteed mushrooms with sides of
steamed broccoli and au gratin potatoes.
Desert would be a large hunk of fresh
fudge brownie with a scoop of vanilla
ice cream melting atop it.

I would definitely make it a table for six

Appetizer: Escargot

Salad: Spinach Salad with hot bacon dressing

Main Dish: Filet Mignon & a good sized lobster tail with drawn butter (creamy, not translucent) and fresh steamed asparagus (no hollandaise)

Dessert: Cherries Jubilee over french vanilla ice cream

Then I would go directly to Curves in the morning for a double workout!

So anyway, birthday's coming up...who wants to cook?

I just had the perfect birthday meal with my wife, so this time I'll bring my dad:

The chef would have to bring the recipe for flame-broiled steak at Wolf's Lodge, Ceour d' Alene, Id, and it would have to be a 24oz ribeye for each of us.

To wash it down, both of us like heffeweisen (a microbrew, yep, he has to make that, too!)

I don't see any need for anything else...

Happy Birthday to me!! (not really - just a song that came into my head!!)

Hmmm.....

App - Oysters Rockerfeller
Salad - mesculin greens, goat cheese and a blood orange olive oil and balsamic vinegarette
Main - Risotto, roasted asparagus and filet w/bernaise
Dessert - creme brulee w/those little rolled plain cookies
served with a great cappacinno

and I'd invite the max!!

How many people I would invite would depend on my mood.
Right now, it's morning, I'm tired, so I'd say - an intimate dinner.
But by nighttime, hey! I may be ready to party hardy!

Anyway, the menu would definitely be Mexican!
It would have to include:
Chips and salsa
Enchiladas (Just like Mama used to make!)
Tamales
Tacos
Guacamole
Mexican rice
Refried beans
The chef can surprise me with chalupas, chiles relleños, burritos or quesadillas.

Hmmm...
If I don't have a party, I'm gonna have a lot of leftovers!
Oh well - Mexican food's always good the second and third time around too!

And for dessert -
Birthday cake! (Duh!)
(I'll let the chef surprise me with something rich and creamy!)

Party on, dudes! big grin

I would invite a few friends and everyone here from AnswerPool. My birthday meal would include...(the flavros may be a bit unusual but oh well)

Appatizers: pan roasted ravioli made by Caprial Pence

Soup/Salad: homemade Cream of Potatoe Soup & Casear Salad

Main Course: Filet Medallions with a Peppercorn Brandy Cream Sauce from Mccormick and Schmick's Harborside Restaurant, w/ fresh sauteed green beans and Garlic Mashed potatoes from The Metropolitan Grill in Seattle.

For Dessert: Pumpkin Cheesecake with Bourbon Spiked Cream made by world famous chef, Emeril Lagasse

Upon finishing that spectacular meal, I would then go lay on the couch and pass out.
There is no way I could eat all that. That is almost more than I eat in a week!! eek
