Hubby's a trucker, so more often than not, I don't cook when he's not home. So, when he's gone, I usually send the kids for pizza or chicken wings.

When he's home, however, I always cook - it depends on how long he'll be here. I usually do a nice roast and all the trimmings, but if he's only going to be home for a day, I'll do chicken breasts or the like, which we won't have leftovers for.

Once a week or less. We go out on people's b-days to nice places - usually, "Golden Corral". We sometimes go out as a family, but not often. My dad and mom usually eat out alone once or twice a week while I baby sit the other guys...

My husband and I usually go out to eat on Saturday nights with three other couples, or if not we go alone. We usually take the kids out one other night. We like it all, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, whatever. We try all different places so the kids (now teenagers) get to try different things.

We usually go to a Mexican (My favorite!) or Chinese (My son's favorite!) restaurant.
Sometimes though we go to an "American" restaurant.
My daughter however is a Mc-aholic!

(PS - Isn't it gross to see a restaurant has a bad Health Rating right after you've eaten there? Eew!)

Sagus and I are trying to condition our boys for a cruise this January (where we will be doing restaurant-style eating for 4 days straight), so we have spent the last year going out to eat quite frequently. How often depends on our finances at the time. We have gone as little as once a month and as often as 4-5 times a week. Most of the time it is about 3 times a month. The food is American food because of the boys' eating disorders, but we sneak other kinds in when we can.

We eat out for special occasions like birthdays and anniverseries. We sometimes get Chinese takeout. I really prefer to stay home and eat together as a family. That way I can better control what my kids eat.

My wife, Kar7773, and I reserve one night a week where we dine out. And then it's whatever we choose. Colfax, Washington is not the gourmet capital of the world, so our choices are a bit limited. Including bars, which we never frequent, there may be 10 places to eat all told in town, the majority of them fast food.
