Hi! I have a singing competition VERY soon and I want to sing the song Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, but my problem is the song has background vocals and songs with background vocals will be disqualified. I've been looking all over trying to download one that is just instrumental with no background singers whatsoever, but I'm finding it impossible Does anybody here know how to take vocals out of a song and would be willing to do it for me? It would be absolutely wonderful if someone could do that for me, or if anyone has a download of the song with no background vocals! Thank you soooo much! -Cassandra
Thank you so much for finding that. The only problem about that, is when singing is suppost to start this weird, long "beep" noise occurs. I think it would be difficult for me to sing along with it because of that. Otherwise, the song is perfect because there is no vocals. ah thats frusturating. Anyone else?
The Legends karaoke label has a version of "Beautiful" that I don't think has any background vocals. Check it out at karaoke.com Their customer service is extremely helpful. You might be able to ask them if they can confirm that. There is also Sound Choice Spotlight and Pocket Songs which appear on the same page of the above link.
I have some karaoke CDs of Christina and I've just checked my index but unfortunately I don't have that song.

Hopefully, Georgia's post will provide a good version. If not, you might consider editing the audio file so that it sounds the way you want. Here is a list of free .mid file audio editors available for download: Google Search Results
And if you can't figure out how to do this, I can try to do it for you.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, that version you mentioned Georgia does have vocals in the background *thumbs down*. Thanks for trying to help though.
I'm not really sure how to edit audio files, I'm not very genius at computers Dwight, it would be GREAT if you could try to fix it for me, because I'm not very sure what I have to do..and I don't think I have enough time to mess up the song before the competition. Sorry to bother you, but whenever you have time that would be great. Thanks!

I found the download on Limewire. Yes that's exactly what I'm trying to do(burn it on a CD)..but I'm having some troubles. The file is a midi file, and I'm guessing there very large so they are not able to fit on to my blank CD(CD-R MAXELL 700MB). I was hoping to use real player to burn the CD into but I can't because it's a Midi file. Is there anyway I can change the midi file into an MP3 audio file? Would changing the file make it small enough to fit on my CD, or would I have to buy another type? Thanks again! P.S.- do you think this would work? Here
Actually, a .mid file is very small. The version that I linked you to on my Web site is only about 33 Kb and a CD-R can hold about 650 Mb.
The .mid file is just a series of 0's and 1's. You don't need to make this an music CD. It can be just a data file CD. When you run your CD writing software, just choose "data" as the type.
If you burn to CD using Windows built CD writing, that will also work as just a data file.
When running the finished CD, you need to open the "My Computer" icon and double click on the CD where the disk is. Double click on the .mid file and it will automatically open what ever audio player your computer is configured with. It will also play on a Mac.
As an alternative to a CD, you could purchase a jump drive (or flash drive) and put the file on that. Then just plug the jump drive into the USB connection of any computer and play the music.
If you're running a Windows XP system, the installation is automatic, when you plug it in. Just watch the screen down by the clock and you will see a pop-up screen showing you the installation progress.
If you're running an older Windows system, there is a free driver download.
I hope some thing here will help! And should you need further assistance, please post again.

I burned the CD using your instructions, but it's not playing in anything I tried my karaoke machine, CD player etc and it just won't play. What should I do?
Did you open "My Computer" and double-click on the CD, then the file?
If so, right-click on the CD .mid file and choose "properties". What do you see?
Does the jump drive option sound appealing? If so, and given need to get this done quickly, you can just buy one at any computer store. you need not buy an expensive one, since the file is so small. Also, can you email me the .mid file so I can verify that it is a good one? You can get my email address at: http://dwightblackburn.com
I work at home, so I'm here all day.

Yes I did everything you said. The thing is, I don't need the CD to play on to my computer, I need it to play in either a karaoke machine or a some sort of CD player at the performance..and for some reason it will not do that. Is it possible just to change the file into an MP3 and just burn it the regular way? That would be a lot more easier for me. I'll get your email after this one reply. Thanks.
OK, in that case, might need to make the file into a mp3 or a .wav file to play in the Karaoke machine or CD player. Some will play the .mid but but since we don't know exactly what player typer will be used, it is probably better to just convert the file type.
But some CD burner software can also do this...I don't know what software that you're using to burn your CD's. The NERO is a common one. Here is their tutorial about burning CD's
What ever software that you're using will probably show you how to do this in the Help section. Look for "burn audio files" and see if that is any help.

Something has come up and I have to leave for the rest of the day. I won't have computer access until tomorrow so I've emailed some knowledgeable people and asked them to monitor your thread and assist you.
If you get desperate, you might take the file to a computer store and get them to burn the CD to an audio file for you. As of this writing, I have not received your email message with the song.
Good luck with your competition!
Update...after the big todo about getting out of here, we settled down and decided to leave tomorrow morning. Family thing.
Anyway, should I get your email or should you post again, I will be here today, but gone for tomorrow.
No big loss since the others are smarter than me anyway!

I would suggest loading and playing via Realplayer which has a "burn to CD" as well as a playback facility But For some reason it has gone "funny" on my computer (won't display but is playing video's OK)

THANK YOU everyone for your help! I've finally got the song on a CD and it's working great and playing in almost anything I've always had RealPlayer on my computer, so first I changed the file into an MP3 by using the website I mentioned above in one of my posts(it says "here" and you click it). I was almost sure the file wouldn't change, but I was so surprised it did! Then I burned the song onto a CD using Real Player, and I'm finally finished with this CD! Thanks to Dwight and everyone that tried to help me with this problem! Thanks! I think some of you should enter "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" I've been reading some of the posts on here, everyone is so smart.. I SWEAR one of you guys would win that competition! - Cassandra
Us Smart?...You'd be surprised to learn that there are many people like me that haven't got a single qualification to our name What most of us do is share experiences from real life We enjoy the challenge even if the advice we pass on is inaccurate (and you've of course heard the "2 heads are better than 1" We collectively work towards good quality answers Improving as we go along Have you been to our other site at www.discussionpool.com and looked at the topics there. Its more personalised than Answerpool and a lot of us regulars are there too, and we have the Games ,quizzes and quirky Posts that do not fit into Answerpool (Was the old "discussion room" on this Site and it grew somewhat! ) Is moderated just as tightly Here are the games we are running at the present Tip..Start with the Nosey Neighbor Game topic is well subscribed to,and is unique to just this site (and is all about us , where we live and our life experiences...in the chatty way we have developed over the years
OH and I have got some of the really difficult questions right on Millionaire (spent too many hours watching documentries reading books when I was younger)

There are definately some smart people here at AP and I am amazed by the amount of computer knowledge some have. Dwight e-mailed a few of us to ask us to help you during his absence. I was honored but embarrassed to be included as I have zip knowledge on how to download music or burn CDs. My solution was to keep on looking for manufactured karaoke CDs - lol. Glad you got your song to work. Maybe one day you can teach me how to burn a CD
