I recently recieved a .DOC as an attatchment via E-Mail. The document was created in Word2000.
My version of Word ('97) shows mostly gibberish.

Is there a way this person can send this file so I can read it ? Confused

Thanks Mike b. (AKA Byter)
No thanks; I don't want to buy a newer version of word.

U don't have to buy a new version of Word! Just install this and U should be able to see any Word document! Then paste it into 97 and make changes there hopefully!

ivnj's link is to a MS Word Viewer program. An even easier way is to download and install the Microsoft Word Converter:

Converters enable you to open files created by people using different versions of your Office programs. Find the appropriate converter for the version of the Office program on your computer.

Viewers enable people who don't have Office programs to see your work. Simply provide them with the appropriate viewer along with your files.

Thanks Guys:
Regretably I haven't been able to try either method yet.

Some Dunder-head seems to have deleted the .DOC file
when he found he couldn't use it. Red Face
(I've got a good idea who did this but I ain't saying who.) Razz

Will get back with you when I know more.
