I was trying something on my computer to fix another problem i've been having i pressed F8 while my computer booting up and now my computer won't accept my password so i can't get into my computer i don't have backup disk and don't know what to do. I'm on windows vista

If you can get into the account Here is the way to change the Password http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/ht/chgpassvista.htm

But it may be possible to see this via Safe Mode(Press F8 on startup then "start in safe mode") or the Admin account
No ideas how to access this (Am an XP user)
Other ways are through the Registry B) Disabling the password In the Control Panel(Admin tools) or C)opening a new Account then Pulling the files across/deleting the old account (Lot of work) Frown

Not much on the help forum files
This is typical:

If you do not have an installation disk, there are free password recovery
procedures on the internet, I usually do not recommend these simply because
they require advanced computer skills and some of them can turn your
computer into an expensive doorstop.
