First step would be to write as concise an outline as possible describing the intended functions of your idea. Next step would be to actually write a "spec" for a programmer, but that's a fairly technical task. I'd suggest taking a little time searching a Sourceforge - http://sourceforge.net where they've usually got about 50,000 projects being actively developed by about a half million members. Chances are someone is working on something at least similar to what your wanting to do. If so, you can contact them and try to work out a deal. I guess you'll have to also give some thought before hand on what your goals are for the program, and if you want to pursue any patent or copyrights to the idea. Most of the sourceforge guys are "open source" developers, but are generally willing to work on proprietary projects - that just has to be clear up front. Good luck, the software world needs some fresh ideas!!!
