Now that we're in the 21st century, what is the state of the Mac vs. PC debate?

Who in the world would buy a Mac in this day and age? They're expensive and much of their software is incompatible with the rest of the world. And it seems Apple's touted GUI advantage is now gone.

Are Mac people today's computer user version of the dinosaur? Are they a bunch of idealistic hippies? A bunch of independently-minded sophisticates? Are they blissfully ignorant and arrogant? Just who ARE these Mac people?

Who the hell would ever buy a Mac today?

A naive government employee!

My next home computer WILL be an Apple! I use one at my office and love it! Very easy to use. I always balked when Mac users would say "Oh you need a Mac." Now I find myself encouraging people to buy them. Technically I don't understand computers, but as a user of the computer, I know that the Mac is the way for "techies" and the "non techie".
Make mine a Mac!

I have heard that mac has several advantages

First of all, it is easy to use for beginners
Also, they are good for design in animations or graphic!
And they also have awesome design in computers!

Actually Apple is positioning itself to try to take some of the PC market share. New, ad campaign and new operating system -OSX. Mac seems to have come full circle. The new operating system is actually a unix variant but has outstanding intuitive gui's. It also as a windows emulator so that it can run almost all windows programs. It really looks pretty good.
