does anyone know how to download music. i have a friend that wants to copy some songs from a cd for me but does not know how to do it, does it need a special program. the last time he tried he sent only a short cut file extension. if anyone can tell me i would appreciate it

Unless your friend is the composer of these songs he wants to copy for you he will committing an illegal act if he does copy them. Remember, music is covered by copyright laws which prohibit the copying or distribution of music.

If he wants to merely make himself a backup favorite CDs on his computer then all he needs to do is use is Windows Media Player...if he has Windows XP.
