Is there anyway that I can create a document - like an upcoming event - then boldly write "CANCELED" over top of the document, diagnally?

I know how to do it using watermarks, like DRAFT, etc. but that shows up only when you print it.

Is there a way I can have it show on my screen?

Thanks for any help. Smile

You could use WordArt. Do you need details?

Sue, I tried WordArt, but it won't show over top of the existing text - it squishes in between.

Is there a way to do it??? I appreciate your help.

If I were doing it, I'd start in Paint with the slanted CANCELLED and then put the text on top of that. If you use black as your print color for both, the CANCELLED should obliterate the letters that go over it but leave the others alone.

After you've typed your text into WordArt and it's on your document, right-click on it and click "Format WordArt." Click the Layout tab, and make sure it's set for "in front of text" as the wrapping style.

Alternative way to do it: right-click on the WordArt, hover over "Order," then select "bring in front of text."

In addition, once you've got it showing in front of your text or images, you can then play around with the WordArt to increase its size, change its angle, color, etc.

Most can be done from the "Format WordArt" dialog box, but the size/angle can be done directly by dragging/turning the "handles" on the WordArt when its selected.

Awwww. It's cancelled? The 'clothing optional' bit was ok, since I don't have a stitch to wear. Will you be rescheduling, Tree? And will Twiglets be served? Smile
