Got a new motherboard this morning, and now all my icons, text, etc. are TINY! Even the toolbars. I can barely read them. Tried changing "text size," didn't do a thing.

Thanks for any help.

This may do as a temporary fix
Go to the Control Panel find the Folder called Display There are several tabs on the next window
Click the one called Settings OK?
There is a slide bar here with numbers beneath it.. move the bar to the left and observe the picture above should get bigger the numbers vary from computer to computer
"Normal" resolution is 1024x768 on most PCs (thats your target)Should be 2nd notch from the left?
Lowest resolution(everything big) is 800x600
I have a feeling yours has been set much higher
maybe 1280 x 720? and I agree You do have to squint! Frown Maximium on mine is 1280 x 1024 (8th notch)
So Move the bar till it says 1024x768 underneath then press the "Apply" button the Monitor may click off and on. Does that look better? Roll Eyes
Go too low then you'll get scroll bars everywhere Frown
Under normal circumstances its rare you have to adjust these settings the computer does it automatically.

Thank you, bedstor. That did it. Mine was set to 1400 x 1050! You truly are our Prince.

Spoke a little too soon, Bedstor. That helped with much of my text onscreen, but my email is still opening very small, the line just above "Start" ("Opening page http:// etc) is very tiny, the icons on the quicklaunch bar and the system tray are tiny, and some windows open right down the middle, with room on both sides. I would have thought the change in resolution would affect everything but I guess not.

Any help appreciated.

Perhaps the Text size is set on the smallest size?
On the top of the Internet Explorer window click "View" then Text size set this to Medium (yours I expect will be set to smallest?)BTW you'll still have 2 sizes bigger to use if that size is not to your liking Roll Eyes

Nope, it's set on largest but makes no difference.

I did find, under Display/Advanced, this statement: "If the items on your screen are too small to view comfortably, increase the DPI setting." So I did, from 96 to 120. Helped with some things, but email, screen icons and some webpages (not AP) it did not affect.

Some webpages even when maxed only take up half the screen, right down the middle.

Does this help?

Have you tried the old trick of holding down the CTRL(control) key and moving turning the wheel on the mouse(at the same time)? Roll Eyes
The text on some pages will get bigger (and remains at that size)

Yep. No luck, but I'll keep trying it.

When my laptop was rebuilt I had a similar problem but in reverse. My icons, text, and web-pages were HUGE! Turned out that I needed a new video driver. I don't know anything about what they do but I had someone install the correct one to go with the new loaded hardware and it corrected the problem immediately. Perhaps someone can give you more information about that.

Thank you, Georgia dear! I suspect it is something like that. I will contact my crew.
