If I wanted to transpose a file into PDF format, would I have to buy the appropriate software, or is there a freebie out there somewhere?

You can't do it with Adobe reader can you? I doubt it, but just checking!

Thanks!

The PDF995 free download does this. It creates a "print to file" which can be read with Adobe Reader.

I used have a "print to file" pdf option in Word that created .pdf files. It worked fine. After reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Word I could not get it to work correctly again. Thus I started using the PDF995 program which I've found does the job very well.

The "print to file" option is commonly used to have a document printed by a print shop. Word Processors will often contain small formatting errors if the document is printed on a machine other than the default printer that it was written on. Using "print to file" minimizes this type of problem.
