I have a long video on my computer that I would like to convert and burn to a DVD. When I downloaded it, it went straight into the RealPlayer Library. I'm aware that I can burn it directly to DVD from RealPlayer, but it seems that to obtain the Real software that I need, I would have to buy it (I'm poor and can only afford freeware, =P.

I tried copying the file to my desktop and then converting it, but nothing I do seems to work. I've tried Total Video Convertor, MediaCoder, and one other that I can't remember. I've tried converting it to .mov, and .mpeg4, but each time I try to open the converted file I get an error message.

I finally found a freeware program that would allow me to burn the RealPlayer file without conversion. When I tried this, though, I got another error message. So at the moment I'm stymied about what I can do to get this file onto a DVD. What can I do to copy the video file onto a DVD?
