Kendor
The secret is to avoid the AOL Browser being Installed This can be circumnavigated by Accessing the Web with a router. Only have to install the AOL Broadband Disk and Hook up the router which means you have No AOL Signup Routine. Drops you instantly on your Home Page then You surf Normally
To Get to AOL For Checking your Mail I have made 2 IE favorites up 1 for the AOL Home page and the 2nd pointing at the AOL Webmail page Which is accessed on a secure page

Can even sign up for a Free AOL Screenname if you are a Non member and you get a decent sized mailbox.
Remember this looks like and runs Like the AOL 9 software(Bar a Lot of the "Luggage" = Kendors "concern" )
The Disks are not being distributed by the thousands now You have to request them off AOL tech support and Their policy is to
1) Downsize Dialup support Is only down to 1 access number In the UK was a choice of I think 6 or 8 numbers as recently as 2-3 years ago
2) Broadband Modems are old Hat They require the AOL 9 browser to log in
3) In the Uk for New Customers they will offer you a Laptop computer Plus a Router and BB Installation Kit and The only Condition is you have to sign up for a 2 year contract and the computer is yours(link speed is 1.1 MBs)
I Haven't heard a bad word about a deal like that
Oh and Pay for the Fast version and You get a Telephone contract with cheap and some Free calls
Offer actually ends Monday 11 February!
